Setup guide
How to add social media icons to WordPress
Three steps, no theme files, no CSS. It works the same on any theme — block themes, classic themes, Astra, OceanWP, Divi or Kadence.
Placement
Put your social icons anywhere on your site
A floating bar is the default, but the same icon set renders in your header, menu, sidebar, footer or inside any post — without duplicating your settings.
In the free plugin
Everything most sites need, at no cost
Ten years on WordPress.org and still free. No feature timer, no watermark, no upsell banner buried in your admin.
Pro
Stop guessing which icons earn their place
Every click is counted per network, so you can drop the icons nobody uses and give the ones that work a better position.
- Click tracking — a 14-day chart plus 30-day totals for icons and shares.
- Share of clicks — which networks your audience actually reaches for.
- Live share counts — cached hourly, six-hourly or daily.
- UTM tagging so shared traffic shows up properly in your analytics.
Pro
Control over where, when and how it appears
The behaviour that makes a floating bar feel designed rather than bolted on.

Frequently asked questions
How do I add social media icons to WordPress?
Install Fuse Social from the WordPress plugin directory, add your profile links in the settings screen, then enable the floating bar or place the block, widget or [fuse_icons] shortcode wherever you want them. No theme files and no CSS.
Can I add social media icons to my WordPress header or menu?
Yes. Use the Gutenberg block in a block theme’s header template, or the shortcode in a classic theme’s header. The same icon set can also sit in your menu area, sidebar or footer without duplicating your settings.
Can I change the colour of the social media icons?
Yes. Choose brand colours, monochrome dark or monochrome light, or set custom background, icon and hover colours yourself. Custom icons can each carry their own four colours.
How do I remove social icons from mobile?
Turn off “Show on mobile” in the floating bar settings. Pro also lets you swap the vertical rail for a full-width sticky bar on small screens instead of hiding it entirely.
Why are my social icons not showing?
Almost always a missing or malformed profile URL — each link needs the full address including https://. If the bar itself is missing, check your display rules and whether the page is excluded.
Does it work with my theme and page builder?
Yes — it runs independently of your theme. Use the shortcode in Elementor, WPBakery, Divi or Beaver Builder, the block in Gutenberg, or the widget in any theme with widget areas.
Is the licence really for unlimited sites?
Yes. One payment of $29.99 covers every site you own or build for clients, with no per-site activation limit and no renewal.
Does it slow my site down?
Assets load only on the front end and only when an icon set renders. Icons are inline SVG rather than an icon font, and share counts are cached for up to 24 hours.
